LORDS OF KARMA

Kategorija: MAGAZIN

According to Romanian belief, angels have human bodies with wings and are rarely seen. Nonetheless, an angel is a faithful companion to every person, persistently following them—except in one case: when a person enters a tavern, their angel does not follow but stands at the threshold and waits. Similarly, it is said that one should never threaten anyone in anger with a knife, as an angel is believed to stand three steps away from a person.

Much like the Bosniak people, Romanians also hold the strongest beliefs about angels and children. As soon as a child is born, God immediately sends a guardian angel to see it. However, the angel will not approach the house if it finds salt on the window, if the windows are closed, or if people are standing near them and eavesdropping out of curiosity.

The angel’s true mission begins right after the child’s baptism, when it officially becomes a Christian and thus receives divine protection. From that point on, the angel draws close to the child and usually stays with them until death. Throughout life, the angel is believed to be on a person’s right side or sitting on their right shoulder, while the devil is on the left side or shoulder. For this reason, Romanians believe that left-handed people—those who do everything with their left hand—are devils.

There is also a belief that children who die immediately after baptism, or even those who die before the age of seven, bear no sin and therefore become angels after death. These angels remain in the presence of God, serving Him or praying for the souls of their parents. When the parents die and, by some chance, end up in hell, these angels descend into the underworld and flap their wings to create a breeze—to cool the flames of hell and ease their parents’ torment.

Lords of Karma

Based on everything said above, it is easy to conclude that every human being is born sinless—pure and innocent, just like the angels themselves. However, through life and growing up, a person’s thoughts and actions expose them to evil and put their soul to the test.

Despite this, every individual has their own guardian angel, who, from a spiritual standpoint, bears full responsibility for their fate and life journey. In this way, it is clearly stated that no guardian angel is superior to another, nor has the right to interfere or dominate. Responsibility is individual. From this principle stems the independence angels have in carrying out their protective mission.

Since the guardian angel is our protector and guide, they will never harm us. According to esoteric teachings, they were assigned to us by the Lords of Karma—spiritual beings who oversee reincarnation—and who themselves are subordinate to God or, according to some interpretations, are manifestations of God.

The human being exists on Earth to evolve spiritually. They are born and die in order to be reborn again. Each new reincarnation is a test that helps complete the soul’s spiritual path. And just as every teaching requires a Teacher, this is where the need for a guardian angel comes in—someone who communicates with us when necessary through what we recognize as the voice of intuition, or sometimes through dreams.

The need for a guardian becomes logical when we consider the fact that each person contains an immortal part—what is called the soul or Higher Self—which survives through transformation, and a mortal, fallible part—the Lower Self. The role of the guardian angel is also to maintain harmony between these two opposites through their guidance and vigilance.

Light for the Guardian Angel

Much more could be said about angels, but it's important to stop at the right time and turn to the practical side of all this. As the father of monotheism, Zarathustra, taught—every person has a guardian angel to whom they should turn for help whenever needed. And Zarathustra did not say this without reason, because this invisible, gentle being can truly help us many times: protect us from evil people, steer us away from poor decisions and intentions, bring us peace and love, ease our pain, and provide answers.

However, it is important to know that we can also help our guardian angel—strengthen them and offer them spiritual light.

To develop a closer relationship with your angel, always pray for them, as they are your guardian, advisor, and friend. No special words or formal prayers are required—just speak from the heart, as your soul wishes. Often, it is enough to say:
“Guardian Angel, be with me by day and by night!”

But if you want to strengthen your angel and thereby ensure strong spiritual protection—especially during difficult periods in life—you can perform this simple ritual. You will need:

  • A new glass that has never been used

  • A new white candle

  • Mineral or filtered water

Light the candle in a safe place, preferably at a high position such as on top of a wardrobe. Secure it by dripping three drops of wax from another lit candle and pressing the guardian angel candle onto it. Place the glass of water to the right of the candle.

Recite the Lord’s Prayer three times, then say:

“My God, I offer You this prayer and the light of this candle, as spiritual strength and spiritual light for my Guardian Angel. Please accept this offering, my God, and allow my Guardian Angel to be empowered and enlightened, so that they may protect, defend, and guide me through life on this Earth more easily!”

The next day, make the sign of the cross in front of the glass with your right hand and pour the water into a river or a sink. If pouring into the sink, first let the tap run for a moment before pouring the glass.

The effect of this ritual lasts for seven days, and it can be repeated if you feel it is needed or you still require strong protection.

Candle for Someone Else’s Guardian Angel

You can also light a candle for the guardian angel of another person with whom you are not on good terms. For example, if someone is angry with you, or you are angry with your partner, or someone is directing hatred, rage, or resentment toward you—in other words, any kind of negative energy—seek help from their invisible protector.

To calm an eruption of hostile thoughts or emotions, light a white candle for that person’s guardian angel and say:

“Guardian Angel of [name and surname], calm the hatred, anger, and bitterness of your ward so that they do not harm me or torment me with their low emotions, typical of human weakness. I do not know the cause of their hostility or anger. Perhaps jealousy is the reason? But whatever the cause, which is unknown to me, they are trying to release their emotional tension onto me.
You, their guardian angel, help them overcome this acute crisis, this negative phase—nervous tension, mental weakness, antipathy, or irrational rage.
Calm them. Let me appear in their eyes as someone who wishes them well, someone who loves them, so we may be good friends, as I need them.
Guardian Angel and friend of [name], accept this candle which I offer you kindly as a sign of my sincerity and devotion. May they, when they encounter me, do so with kindness, respect, love, and empathy, so that we may work together in harmony toward our goals without harming one another.
So may it be.”

The prayer is now finished. Do not blow out the candle—let it burn out completely. Afterwards, discard the remains into a river.

Before performing any of the described rituals, you must take a bath first, so that your body is clean.

And finally, remember this:
Believe in angels, for angels are all around us.
