In addition to astrology and horoscopes, Tarot cards also provide an impressively precise insight into annual events, especially the part called the Major Arcana. According to the established rule in fortune telling with cards, they are always arranged from left to right and interpreted that way. When it comes to fortune telling for 12 months, the cards are arranged in two rows of six cards, the first and second half of the year. Likewise, the Major Arcana, as well as the gypsy cards, are divided into: favorable, unfavorable, and neutral. In this case (according to the picture), that division would be categorized like this:
Positive: Wheel of Fortune, The Emperor, The Star, The Chariot, Justice.
Negative: The Moon, The Fool, Death, Devil.
Neutral: The High Priestess, The Hermit, The Magician.
According to what was presented, the person in question has a dominant number of positive cards, which when combined with the neutral ones give such a ratio that it can be concluded that the next 12 months will be more favorable than unfavorable for that person. It is also a year of opportunity.
The end of the year is filled, according to numerology, with old energy, so it is not advisable to make personal forecasts for the coming year but to leave that for the first half of January. Namely, January is a diabolical month in which good and evil are still in pretty much the same position and strength, and therefore as such the most ideal for predicting positive and negative events in the year that has just begun.
BRIEF INTERPRETATION
In the following text, in an illustrative example, I will briefly explain the cards you see in the picture, which represent the twelve months in the life of the person in question.
The first card is the Wheel of Fortune, which in itself signifies a very good start, as well as the favorable month of January. The wheel, as a classic symbol of change and luck itself, which is, by definition, something unstable and unruly, always signifies movement, and change, but also a good opportunity to reach the desired goal. It is very wise to use the time period it represents to realize your plans.
However, the first card is always symbolic of the SELF, so the questioner must learn to be more patient and thorough. To curb their impulsive decisions and behavior, and to learn to act thoughtfully and cautiously. From many years of experience, I know that every person for whom the Wheel of Fortune is the first card in their annual analysis has a problem with finances. Therefore, they should be careful with money and spending.
The second month, February, was under the influence of The Moon card, a celestial body, which, like the Wheel of Fortune, is unstable and in constant motion, although in this case, the change is more background and not very noticeable. The Moon along with The Fool announces that the questioner will “pick up” some minor illness such as a cold, flu, or inflammation…, so it is recommended that he pay attention to his health during February and March.
The third card (March) called The Fool, in its meaning, coincides in many ways with this month when nature awakens and becomes playful. For me, the card in question often represents human imagination but also creativity. While, for example, the neighboring card The Moon weakens it, and thus creates a mental block, insecurity, and even fear in the questioner. The second card next to it, in this case, The Emperor, strengthens it, i.e. it says that doubts about one’s own abilities are completely unfounded and unnecessary. Furthermore, the questioner’s creativity is strengthened and should be used as a potential for creating a job or career. Here, priority is given to technology, the internet, working on projects, and the like.
When The Fool occurs, as in this example, with The Emperor card, especially if its back is turned to it, it signals discord in the family, mainly between children and parents, more specifically the father.
April is represented by The Emperor card, which is a very powerful and strong card. Along with The Star card, it describes a person for whom company and fun are very important in life, opportunities to show off. Often individuals who have been involved in sports or are still involved have this combination in their Tarot readings since the power of these two cards, when they are next to each other, is competitive, full of ambition and strength.
When we look closer, all three months (January, February, and March) have cards “in motion”, which means to me that the querent has three dynamic months ahead, while in the fourth (April) in which The Emperor is found, we sum up the results of the past period.
The Star is a happy and blessed card. Its period of influence on the querent can last two to three years, and many remember that period later, when it passes, with nostalgia. When it comes between The Sun and The Moon cards, this trio symbolically represents the firmament and signifies deep and radical changes in the querent’s life. His destiny changes and nothing will be the same again. To me, this card represents a moment when you can shine, just like a star in the sky. Close to the love card, it will make you attractive and seductive, and close to the emperor, successful in your career, but if it is right next to the Justice card, then you can succeed in a government job, or even a political one. If, as in this example, the card is The High Priestess, and the questioner is a woman, then it emphasizes her sensuality, eroticism, and passion.
The High Priestess usually represents a female questioner, but if he is a man then it symbolizes a woman to whom he will be emotionally or professionally attached. Generally, she brings the questioner a new job, or at least the thought of changing jobs.
The Hermit with The Chariot most often announces a trip abroad, and since these two cards took positions for the months of July – August, here it is most obviously about a vacation, going on a summer holiday, or visiting a foreign destination.
Justice with The Magician is a very powerful combination, symbolizing the element of air but also victory, the success of a plan, a lawsuit, a favorable solution, a contract, or something else. It is a combination that also brings success in negotiations, communication, settlements, and agreements. It should not be neglected at all, and the beginning of autumn should be determined by the questioner as the perfect time to stand up for themselves and their interests, such as a job interview or a declaration of love.
The Hermit card always signifies loneliness, especially when it comes to love fortune-telling. However, even without a specific designation, it is a symbol of loneliness, whether voluntary or imposed. Therefore, when it appears in one of the rows, regardless of The Lovers, it still has its original meaning. In this case, it is interpreted as a very possible loneliness. If the questioner is not serious about his love relationship or is indecisive, he has a great chance of being left alone. Sometimes it represents the detachment or coldness of the current partner.
The Magician is a very significant card. It is the first of the Major Arcana and therefore represents a new beginning, but when the Death card comes after it, it signals that plans will fail and that nothing will happen as expected. A completely different scenario will happen.
The card called Death does not literally mean death, although in some combinations it can, its spectrum of interpretation is diverse: it indicates fear, emptiness, the inability to solve something, a temporary standstill, and sometimes the end, change, and loss. Its meaning in the annual interpretation signals that it is time for the questioner to face reality, not to initiate any plans or realizations because it is simply not a favorable moment.
Death and Devil, when they are next to each other – to me it always means that the questioner cannot fight against himself, he cannot overcome inner fears, indecision, or weakness. Something always brings him back to the beginning. He cannot find a solution. It is not a good sign at all when these cards are found at the end, because this position in some way determines the future. In short; even in the new period (next year) the questioner will not realize himself or get rid of vices, weaknesses, and what makes him unhappy. Therefore, some problems remain unresolved in the future.
In Tarot analysis, it is necessary to be able to determine, apart from the cards that represent the questioner (The Magician, The High Priestess), also other people who are in his/her life, such as parents (The Emperor, The Empress), grandparents (The Hermit), relatives (The Chariot) and so on. The Magician can denote a brother or close, younger male relative while The High Priestess represents a sister or close relative. The Emperor next to The Hermit symbolizes a widower, just as The Empress next to the same card represents a widow. If The Magician is close to The Hermit it can mean a free young man, an unmarried man an old man, and so on. The Sun card represents a child but also childhood.
